Andrea Usry, CPA
Andrea Usry is a native of Wrens, GA and still resides there. She enjoys living in a small, close-knit community but loves working in Augusta and surrounding areas.
Andrea graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors of Accounting in 1991. From there, she went to graduate school at University of Georgia and earned a Master of Accountancy in Taxation in 1993. She has been working in public accounting since June 1993. She passed the CPA exam in 1995. Andrea worked with two other public accounting firms in Augusta before coming to work at Serotta Maddocks Evans, CPAs in 2000.
Andrea wanted to become a CPA because she interviewed a CPA in the eighth grade for career week and liked how he said he helped people. She wanted to be in a profession that was respected and challenging. She enjoys helping people and being a CPA gives her the opportunity to work with many different people in many different jobs, careers and businesses. Andrea likes that her job is never the same from day to day. She says there are new challenges, new issues from clients, and new laws that keep her job interesting and exciting.
Andrea is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Augusta Estate Planning Council, the Medical Management Association and the National Society for Certified Healthcare Business Consultants. She currently serves on the Board of the Augusta Chapter of the American Red Cross.
