Rick L. Evans, CPA, Partner
Rick Evans of Rome, GA graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy. Rick chose accounting as a career because it is challenging and he enjoys solving problems. As partner in charge of SME’s audit and accounting services, Rick serves as Quality Control Coordinator for the firm and is responsible for ensuring that SME complies with standards of the accounting profession.
Rick provides insightful and comprehensive accounting, tax and business advice to individuals as well as corporations. Utilizing SME’s team of professionals along with his thirty years of experience, Rick coordinates the various functions of client engagements to provide efficient and effective methods of delivering services to the client. In doing so, Rick provides a valuable resource of experience and information for developing solutions for maximization of profits and net worth and minimization of taxes.
Rick makes the most of his time and talents by contributing to the development of his profession and community. He currently serves or has served in the following roles: Chairman of the Development Authority of Columbia County; Treasurer of the Exchange Club of Augusta; Executive Committee of the Georgia Society of CPA’s Peer Review Committee; Foundation Board of the Board for Golden Harvest Food Bank; Advisory Board of Leadership Columbia County; and the Columbia County Coalition for Quality Government.
Rick and his wife Kim have three children, Brant, Ansley and Will. Rick attends Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church and enjoys spending time with his family, boating, golfing, and biking.
