Rebecca Plankey, MBA
As the Director of Marketing and Business Development, Rebecca brings over seven years of experience in client development, marketing and communications. She is a successful relationship manager bringing her skills of developing marketing plans and cultivation strategies to promote growth and secure new business to the firm.
Rebecca is responsible for planning and implementing the firm’s strategic marketing plan and managing the corresponding budget. She is charged with ensuring the efforts align with the firm’s growth goals and funds are targeted for the cultivation of new business. Rebecca manages all internal and external communications and a comprehensive calendar of community and firm-sponsored events. Her energy and enthusiasm keep her team motivated to take an active part in achieving goals and realizing success. Rebecca is an internally motivated professional with strong organizational and communication skills.
Aside from her work at SME, Rebecca is highly committed to her community. She is a 2010 Leadership Augusta graduate and currently sits on the Class Planning Committee where she chairs Communications Day. She has also served on the State of the Region Planning Committee and will chair the event in 2012. Rebecca serves on the Women in Business Committee for the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce. She is a former Ambassador for the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce.
Rebecca is an active member of the Junior League of Augusta and has also helped organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House, Alzheimer’s Association, Action Ministries and American Red Cross.
In 2010, Rebecca was named a Top 10 Young Professional by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and Augusta Magazine. This award honors rising business professionals based on their professional goals for the next five to ten years, their significant past achievements, previous awards and their volunteer/community activities.
Rebecca attended Augusta State University where she earned a Masters in Business Administration in 2009 and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2004. During her years in graduate school, she also worked as a graduate assistant and helped gather statistical data to research the local Augusta economy.
