Abram J. Serotta, Managing Partner

Abram J. Serotta was born and raised in Augusta, GA where he graduated from the Academy of Richmond County.  He went on to earn a Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Georgia in 1968, where he also earned his Masters of Accountancy in 1969.  Abram passed his CPA exam while in college.  Abram has been with SME since 1969. 

As Managing Partner, Abram plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s vision and focus.  He ensures that the firm’s high standards for technical excellence and maintaining a client-focused mindset are met. 

Abram has helped two generations of clients succeed.  He is driven by the responsibility that comes with this achievement and is proud that the accounting industry recognizes his dedication to clients and the profession.  Abram has been: selected twice as one of Accounting Today’s 100 Most Influential CPAs in the United States; the Chairman of Augusta State University’s College of Business Advisory Committee; and elected “Alumni of the Year” by University of Georgia, Terry College of Business where he has served as the Chairman of the Alumni Board.

Abram mentors and lectures to college students on the practical aspects of career planning. He is currently teaching Tax Research at Augusta State University.  Abram also plays a vital role in his community.  He has chaired the Metro Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau, Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, and the National Health Care Advisor Association.  Abram is Chairman of the Board for the CSRA Community Foundation and also sits on the Board of Directors for the Morris Museum.

Abram and his wife Cookie have two children, Ashley and Jason, and two grandchildren, Eva and Sydney.  Abram enjoys spending time with his children and grandchild, fishing, and reading history.
